What is Pilates?
Pilates is a sport developed by Joseph Pilates (born 1880) in Germany.
In 1926, Joseph Pilates and his wife moved Germany to New York and set up the first gymnastics studio there. Next, he developed these 36 wonderful exercises and soon attracted many dancers and actors to practice. They also receive many benefits with the body affecting the body and mind.
In terms of what Pilates is, these are methods of weight loss by combining a series of controlled exercises to strengthen muscles and improve health. Originally designed specifically for veterans to help them recover physically and mentally after World War I.
